I was persuaded to enter at the last minute, but entries had closed. However, I joined the wait list and the RD was very helpful in helping me get a place.
I'm really pleased that I did get a place, as I really enjoyed the event. From the moment you approached the recreation ground it was evident that a well-thought out and very organised event was underway. Marshalling in the car park and on the course was excellent, with lots of smiley faces and tons of encouragement.
It was tough, and made much worse by the heat, but I had already decided that I was going to walk the hard uphill sections, so I didn't put pressure on myself to push on regardless. The outcome being that I enjoyed it so much more, and gave more opportunity to take in the gorgeous scenery.
I think there's a very good chance I'll be back next year.

Can be hot so pays to be hydrated and wearing suitable clothing is a must. Always a good mix of entrants and of course the cakes at the end are why you run 10 miles.

The elevation was as expected but the heat made the race very tough for me.
Maybe start earlier when the weather is a bit cooler

Great parking, great organisation, great atmosphere, I put maybe friendly to beginners in terms of the course - as a challenge if new to it (the people and event were very friendly).

This is a very tough 10 miler due to the terrain, so may not be suitable for beginners

The marshals were very encouraging. This is a great event. My third time and it is a must on my race calendar. A really testing but thoroughly enjoyable race.

Also very very hilly and very very hot so would like to see it start an hour earlier if at all possible.

A fabulously challenging course with amazing views. Very well organised from parking to registration and tea and cake after. Highly recommend.

Just wanted to add the Marshall were excellent and in all the right places. This doesn’t happen in other events I’ve run in

Lots of hills, tricky terrain, beautiful scenery and very well organised.

One of my favourite events and just keeps getting better.

Really well organised event,the staff/marshalls were all brilliant.Very scenic course with great logistical and medical back up.Good price too,roughly half of most other races.
